BIOLOGY
The most important vector, in respect to health and economy, is the mosquitoes, whose approximately 2700 types are known in the world because they sucked the blood from Human and Animal, they reproduce quickly and carry many disease factors. About 60 mosquito type is determined in Turkey as Anopheles, Aedes and Culex. Anopheles reproduces in the clean water, others reproduce in all kinds of water deposits such as clean, warm, cool, dirty waters. They leave their eggs singly and as groups into water deposits. After larva and pupa period, they become mature mosquitoes under convenience heat within 8 or 9 days. Females have to suck blood in order to lay eggs. Therefore, they disturb people very much. They accommodate in the moist and dark ambient. They are active at nights. Males are fed by fruit and plant juice. They spread up to very large distances of reproduction place by flying at least 3 km and they condense in the ambient, in which livings exist.
Anopheles plays role of spreading MALARIA. Furthermore, it has also important roles for spreading diseases such as elephantiasis, yellow fever, Nile fever, Brain infection.

• Marshes and slow flowing stream, lakes, brook and calm water focuses on the shore of river,
• Snow and rain waters, accumulated in the area of meadow and forestry area,
• Irrigation channels, tap basins,
• Rice production fields,
• Waters, accumulated in the base holes, stone pits, tree hollows,
• Containers, in which water accumulates, such as flowerpot, barrels in the balcony of dwellings,
• Barrel, bucket and auto tires, left in the gardens,
• Water deposits in the base floors,
• Drain waters, flowing open and fosse septic wells

15 C   26 days

35 C   9-10 days.Mature mosquitoes abandon the reproduction ambient in order to be fertilized within 12 hours by feeding with weed, moss, plant juice and deposited waters, in which they reproduced

• It takes 2-3 days for sucking blood again and laying egg for the second time.
• Living times (female) : 60 – 70 days (male): 7-10 days
• Laying egg period: 3 -10 times
• Egg piece: 150 -200
• Their bodies are fattened in winter after cold weathers and enter for wintering.
• They enter semi wintering in very hot and dry weathers in summer.
• They maintain their generations in the form of mature and egg.

Malaria, diseases, caused by blood and intestinal parasites, dang fever, yellow fever, Valley fever, passing from cattle and sheep to the people, Encephalitis. It has many types. The most common and seen in our country are Anopheles spp, Culex spp and Aedes spp.
